Originally fitted with OEM # 278-000-577 (9 Tooth starter) and later superseded by Seadoo to OEM # 278-001-301 (8 Tooth starter) for all replacements. Although the original starter for this application had 9 teeth and the replacement only has 8 teeth, the drive-end construction was modified on the 8 tooth version allowing them to interchange without changing the flywheel.
